Let me introduce myself!

This is a long time coming. I’ve dreamt of creating a blog, since I knew what a blog was. There’s just something so special about claiming a corner of the web for yourself — a space to share inspiration, express yourself, and grow a community.

Here’s what to know about me: my name is Kate, and I live in Charleston, SC with my husband, Adam.

We graduated college in May of 2020 and moved from St. Louis, MO to the East Coast so that I could pursue a career in wedding planning. I’m currently working in the events industry as a wedding planner and truly loving every minute of it. It brings me endless joy to blend my passion for design with my passion for creating meaningful, memorable experiences.

I’m an old soul. Follow me on Spotify and you’ll see that I listen to more Sam Cooke, Frank Sinatra, and Aretha Franklin than the average 75 year old. My style is timeless. Chic. Classic with a modern twist. My favorite movies are the Sound of Music, Father of the Bride, and the Parent Trap. If Nancy Meyers directed it, I like it. I drink a lot of tea (Earl Grey). I’m a follower of Jesus, and can’t imagine not being so. I’m introverted. Socializing is somehow both energizing and exhausting for me. My three favorite places in the world are Rosemary Beach, FL (if you know, you know), Paris, and my parent’s living room. I could go on and on, but I’m sure the rest will come out eventually.

This past season has been marked by tremendous change for me. Graduation. A new marriage. Entering the work force. A cross-country move. Adulting in general. So, naturally, I decided to document it here on kategaines.com.

Only time will tell what this space becomes. A fashion blog? A lifestyle blog? It could be either or something in between. The juries still out. Regardless, I’m happy that you’re here, and I hope you stick around.
